One day I loaded up the printer with paper and suddenly it started spewing out copies of whales...10 pages of whales printed uncontrollably...that's 10 sheets of paper wasted, right?

NO! I waste nothing!

I hate wasting. It really bothers me how hard it is to recycle around here (no bin collection, I can't keep a small recycle bin for fear of attracting roaches, etc.). Thus I try to be as resourceful as possible.

I look at a sheets of whales or a box of rubber bands and think, "What can I use ya for?"

I found the website above (click the link!) and was inspired by the great whale board! Then I added the writing element to make it *interactive* and *educational* while at the same time *display my students working toward a common core standard.

I will update with a photo of my board after my students have added their whales....
